The First 90 Days

Updated: Jan 22, 2020

1.) Accelerated Learning

I will learn all that I can about Lexington One, including the district’s mission, vision, decision makers, influencers, policies, procedures, and practices.

I will study current enrollment and recruitment practices for The College Center (and other centers) to discover what already exists within the district.

I will learn about current staff and students at Gilbert High School.

I will study and connect with successful Dual Enrollment programs in other districts and states.

I will familiarize myself with State Department contacts and South Carolina Dual Enrollment regulations and policies.

I will connect with my supervisor(s) and find out what they want, how they work, and how I can support them.

2.) Refine My Strategy

I will use this new learning to refine my strategy.

The team and I will identify implementation barriers and adjust accordingly.

3.) Negotiate Success

I will meet frequently and speak frankly with my supervisor(s) to ensure the goals being set by my team align with their vision(s) and goal(s) for the program.

4.) Secure Early Wins

I will ensure classes are staffed appropriately, teachers are supported, and students are experiencing success.

I will develop a collaborative relationship with districts like Gwinnett County Public Schools.

I will have met with an individual and/or team from each high school to align The College Center’s success with their success.

5.) Achieve Alignment

I will use STARS Situation Analysis to avoid unnecessary complexity, and ensure that the speed at which we are implementing change matches Lexington One’s ability to accept change.

6.) Create Alliances

I won’t succeed without the support of each high school and key members of central office staff.

I will find ways to meet my goals while helping them meet their goals.

7.) Manage Myself

I will reflect consistently on my energy level, attention to detail, and performance to make certain I am being my best self.
